Clothes for Olive

Olive needed some new shorts so I thought I'd make a new outfit for her.
I have made lots and lots of these Ottobre smocks over the years. I am not sick of making them yet.
I thought these bloomers from Aesthetic Nest would go with the smock really well and also fit over the biggest cloth nappy.

Olive seemed to love them. Perfect for roaming the garden hunting for the chickens.

Strip Savvy - Giveaway

Look what turned up, I think this box has been all over the world on the way here. To celebrate I am giving away two copies. Leave a message here telling me what is your favourite size quilt to make. I'll pick two winners the evening of Thursday 27th Western Australian time. (Yes I will post anywhere!)
If you are possibly interested in doing a QAL from the book go tell Kim at Lily Patch Quilts, she is thinking about hosting one.

Maggie May Tunic

A little Maggie May tunic for Olive. Such a cute pattern that went together very easily.

I love these little flower buttons that match the fabric. I should probably have added some interfacing on the button bands as it is a little wrinkly.

Eva loved it so much she picked out some fabric so I can make one for her.

New Knitting Bag

All my little knitting bags are full of unfinished projects which is probably a sign I should finish something before I start something new. But I really had to start a yellow cardigan so I made a new knitting bag.
I used these quilt-as-you-go panels I made a while ago and lots of left overs from other projects and based it on this one I made for my sister.
I added a pocket for stitch markers inside in the hope I can find them when I need them.

I think I need to change the size of the panels and make myself a handbag a bit like this.

Last Day of Holidays

The girls are back at school tomorrow. I will miss the lazy mornings and having them around, but I am looking forward to some quiet and getting the house organized. Olive is going to be devastated when we drop them off tomorrow.
We have spent the last week cooking new things including gozleme (thanks to Susie for the recipe), which got the thumbs up from 3 out of 4 kids.

We read new books and planned.

 Evie played with the buttons.
I found this Finel of Finland kettle in a second hand shop. One of those never to be repeated bargain finds.
